Vladimir Maykov

Vladimir is the Ubiquity's Vice President for Russia and CIS Chair of Transpersonal Psychology at the Moscow Institute of Psychoanalysis. He is Founding Member and President of the Russian Association for Transpersonal Psychology and Psychotherapy, Founder of an international publishing project to publish transpersonal psychology texts in Russian and has edited about 70 books for this project, Founder of Transpersonal Project: International open transpersonal video and media archive and Author of 4 books about transpersonal psychology. He is a pioneer of transpersonal studies in Russia, a Certified psychotherapist (European Association of Psychotherapy, European Transpersonal Association, World Council for Psychotherapy, Portland Center for Processwork and holds a M.A degree in biophysics from Moscow Physical-Technological Institute (1980) and Ph.D. in Philosophy of Consciousness from Institute of Philosophy of RAS (1988). He was organizer of the 17th International Transpersonal Conference in Moscow (2010) and is a consultant and author of films about spiritual issues.

Sean Blackwell

Sean Blackwell is a graduate of the University of Toronto in Sociology and Religious Studies, and has been researching the spiritual dimension of bipolar disorder, as well as the potential for healing, since 2007. He has created over 50 YouTube videos on this subject alone, amassing 1.5 million views. Sean’s videos are largely based on the transpersonal theory of Dr. Stanislav Grof and Dr. David Lukoff among others, as well as insights gathered from thousands of conversations with people diagnosed with bipolar disorder. His book, “Am I Bipolar or Waking Up?” describes his own Spiritual Emergency, subsequent hospitalization and complete recovery.

Ligia Splendore

Ligia Splendore is a graduate of Clinical Psychology with a post-graduation in Transpersonal Psychology from ALUBRAT, Brazil. She has been a part of the coordination team for ALUBRAT São Paulo for the past 6 years, as well as a volunteer at São Paulo’s Hospital das Clínicas. She has experience with the mental health system in Trieste, Italy. Together with her husband, Sean Blackwell, Ligia has been studying the correlation between Bipolar Disorder and Spiritual Emergency since 2007, and is the creator of the online social network, (Bipolar Soul).

Ofra Ayalon

Ofra is a psychologist, family therapist, an expert on psychological stress and trauma and an international trainer in the field of coping with trauma and post disaster rehabilitation. Her books and articles deal with trauma in organizations, schools and communities. Her book "Rescue - Community oriented prevention education for coping", a multi-dimensional crisis intervention program, was translated into seven languages and adapted in Education and Mental health organizations in Israel and abroad. The book contains methods of developing a range of coping resources, such as cognitive, imaginative, affective, physical, social and spiritual ones. (known as the B.A.S.I.C. Ph. Coping model). These creative methods and tools are used to help survivors and rescue workers deal with the aftermath of stressful and traumatic situations. Ofra is the author of the internationally known COPE Cards for Trauma & Healing, an effective tool for dealing with trauma and helping the helpers, which is presented in the following workshop.
