UNEARTHING OUR MUTUAL INHERITANCE: THE SHARED MIND

Utilizing his own research project as a springboard, Kiritsis will discuss the precognitive faculty and its implications for the objective validity of a ‘shared mind’, or what Carl Jung described as the collective unconscious. He will elucidate how Telegnostic projections inherent in many precognitive dreams and experiences implicitly hint at the existence of a ‘shared mind’. The argument will be further corroborated with the presentation of specific documented cases from the arenas of clinical psychopathology and Transpersonal development.

HOW TRANSPERSONAL INNER COMMUNICATION CONTRIBUTES TO METAMORPHOSIS

The presentation will include a short description of Accompanied Inner Communication, a new approach that associates words with touching, by establishing contact and cupping the accompanied person’s hand. This process thanks to “heart to heart” contact guaranteed by accompanying the gesture of the hand, ensures the person who cannot speak, contacts the inner essence of being. Examples of clinical cases describing the process and metamorphosis that takes place during a session will be given, explaining how AIC allows people who cannot speak, to contribute to the metamorphosis of the one who can. This will be an active workshop with voice work, based on Franca’s many years of Voice Training and Therapy, that joins with AIC.

BIOTRANSENERGETICS AS A PATH

A way of transformation according to the Mahamudra: the Big geste. Thirty years of exploring ways of transformation, east and west, shamanic and spiritual traditions, thirty thousand hours of clinical work and teaching suggested that I give up clinical protocols and diagnostic manuals and just stay, to be present and disappear into myself. BTE is the result of something old, something new, a way (not the way) to make love with life, with emptiness, and slowness, lightness, and evenness, simplicity, flexibility, competence, and relaxed energy. To make two - one.

THE WESTERN PATH - A DISCUSSION ON THE RELEVANCE OF TRAVELING THE WESTERN MYSTICAL PATH FOR SPIRITUAL SEEKERS WITH JUDEO-CHRISTIAN ROOTS

While all traditions -- East and West -- lead to Oneness, research shows that coming to terms with all aspects of one's identity is important for the development of a strong Self. Metamorphosis in this context means surrendering to the Western mystical energies alive in one's soul and not confusing these with organized religion from childhood. Reexamination of postmodernism in terms of transpersonal values is also discussed. Q & A and personal stories.

NEW LIGHT IN TRANSPERSONAL PSYCHOTHERAPY

I am trying to open up the field of transpersonal psychotherapy to admit all the new information that is now coming in from many sides. Of course I also include the work of Ken Wilber, but now I am throwing the doors open to the downward path, the heart realm, the findings from new hallucinogenic research, the participatory innovations, the new insights from bodywork and so forth. Participants in this workshop will go away not only with new ideas, but also with some practical ideas as to how to use them.

THE WAY OF PERSONAL TRANSFORMATION BY OVERTONE THROAT SINGING IN TUVAN SIBERIAN SHAMANIC TRADITIONS

To reach the level of sound mastery which is required for shamanic practice, an apprentice has to learn how to experience sound vibration as a form of energy, deliver it to the energy centers and transmit to another person for healing. Participants of this workshop will learn how to use throat singing in Transpersonal practice and get personal experience of how the overtone sound can be used for immersing into trance state.

ARTS FOR METAMORPHOSIS

Metamorphosis is like a quest when we asking questions during times of changes, crisis and transformation. What is our authentic movement from cocoon to butterfly? How do we reach our wholeness? How do we learn to fly? Each of us has to find our own unique way. This practical workshop is for those who would like to journey using expressive arts: listening to our bodies and finding the most appropriate motion in concrete movement, feeling own senses and developing images by using colors, lines and shapes, trying to find out your own meaning of the process. It is a way towards wholeness.

METAMORPHOSIS OF THE INNER CRITIC

One cannot abolish the inner critic. Its disintegration takes place by investigating its ways of functioning and recognizing its role of sustaining old defenses. The critic represents a strong energetic force and can be used creatively
by opening the barrier between the Solar Plexus and the Heart Center - border between an individual need system and an evolving view of being part of a collective field. This alters the regard for other people and creates a friendly relation towards oneself.
Examples of daily experience and therapeutic work will be looked at.

WISDOM FROM MYTHS AND FOLKTALES IN THE SPIRITUAL CARE OF ILLNESS AND GRIEF

Dealing with illness and facing the loss of a loved one can lead to disintegration and despair. The collective wisdom of myths and folktales helps us find meaning by connecting us to images of hope and healing from wider spiritual and cross-cultural perspectives. In this workshop excerpts from selected Greek myths will be told to illustrate the emotional and spiritual tasks that guide us towards wholeness and integration. Experiential exercises help participants explore the transformative healing power of stories and storytelling in their personal and professional lives.

THE DREAM OF THE COSMOS THE SACRED MARRIAGE

My presentation will explore the need to recover our lost relationship with both the planet and the cosmos and explain why this was lost. It will explore the idea that the Cosmos has a soul and that our soul or consciousness is part of that greater entity. It will answer the questions: Who are we; Why are we here, on this planet? It will address the need to heal the split between spirit and matter and to marry the masculine and feminine aspects of our own psyche, and to engage in a new role as servant rather than exploiter of the planet.

FOLLOWING THE WISDOM OF THE BODY

Traumatic life experiences may lead to a disintegration of our souls and bodies, together with such unwanted consequences as chronic tension, self-destructive patterns and physical as well as psychological obstructions. In this particular workshop we will work with self- and body-awareness, breathing, imagination and healing touch on our bodily stress and bodily resources. We place a special emphasis on the body's self-healing powers. Bodily interventions help to make available to the organism its original physical and psychological force and creative vitality.

INTRODUCTION TO KABBALISTIC PSYCHOLOGY : CONSCIOUSNESS, CREATION AND THE SACRED

With its emphasis on the nature of thought and the way that ideas develop through stages from a concealed seed through to their revealed manifestation, the Kabbalah encompasses a peculiarly rich spiritual psychology. Kabbalistic sources explore what we would call today ‘un’-conscious processes, and provide practices to enable access to regions of the psyche normally closed to conscious thought. In this workshop we will explore techniques using visualisation, movements and breath work, ways of working with the names of God and elements of ritual and archetypal symbolism.

EXTRAORDINARY EXPERIENCES AND LIFE MEANING

The session will explore the transpersonal and the current interest in induced state of consciousness which can alter our individual ego sense by presentations of a greater reality. The psychological nature of numinous experience and our integration of such experienced states of consciousness are important to both personal and societal metamorphosis. Occurring naturally and spontaneously, the numinous is the result of intuition and tacit knowing, and our sensitivity to these ways of knowing. Presentation and discussion of the archetypal nature or patterning used after these experiences.

Research shows that humor and laughing can lead to states of wel lbeing on the levels of body, soul, and spirit. Looking at the Wiley Blackwell Handbook of Transpersonal Psychology published in 2013 it is surprising that the word humor does not appear. In this workshop we will honor the role of humor, laughing, and joy by experiencing their transformative qualties which have an inherent potential to support metamorphosis.

EMBODIED MINDFULNESS PRACTICES FOR PSYCHOTHERAPISTS

Mindfulness practices enhance a therapist’s ability to attend to and empathize with the client. They also cultivate qualities including empathy, compassion, and unconditional positive regard that are among the common factors shown to strengthen the therapeutic relationship and improve outcome. Studies have demonstrated that therapists value mindfulness training and see it as helpful to their role as a clinician. This workshop focuses on embodied forms of mindfulness practices including tai chi, aikido, and qigong that help therapists develop.

WHO AM I ? THE ISSUE OF IDENTITY AND SPIRITUALITY IN TRANSPERSONAL PSYCHOTHERAPY

Psychotherapy bridges the science of Psychology and the art of Philosophy with the powerful tools of hypnosis. Thus it goes beyond the presenting issue to establish an integrated identity for the client. This new psychological specialty facilitates growth across the life span, with a focus on health related, sexual, emotional, vocational, social and spiritual concerns. Through the integration of theory and technique, demonstration and practice, this specialty encompasses a broad range of practices that help people improve their well-being, alleviate distress and maladjustment, resolve crises and increase their ability to live more highly functioning lives. You will learn to understand patterns and themes, subconscious parental messages that still influence life choices, how to avoid emotional and physical accidents and achieve emotional and spiritual freedom, exploring the idea of freedom of choice, passion, mission and compassion. Techniques will include art therapy, psychodrama, hypnodrama, guided imagery, movement and music.

SOULS WITHOUT BODIES - BODIES WITHOUT CONSCIOUSNESS ? THE PIVOTAL ROLE OF UNDERSTANDING CONSIOUSNESS FOR THE FUTURE OF HUMANITY

Ever since Descartes, philosophy centred around souls - minds - without bodies, disembodied philosophy, as it were. With the turn of the tide the natural sciences tried to focus on matter entirely. And out came bodies without mind. The cyborg, an intricate machine, which has all humanity implemented as computer chips and is less vulnerable, more precise, and less prone to emotional mistakes is the cyber-phantasy of postmodern natural science, as envisaged by projects like Avatar2045 or the Transhumanist Project. It is, as if the betrayal of the body through a purely idealist philosophy that focuses only on the mind and on consciousness - on "Geist" in German terminology – is backlashing against the mind by destroying its very foundations. Transpersonal Psychology might have an important role to play here but has not even understood the problem, it seems. By naively subscribing to one sort or other of idealist philosophy – be it through some sort of Vedanta, or through and idealist interpretation of Buddhist philosophy or something similar – there is a danger of repeating the old mistake. In this workshop I would like to collaborate with participants in finding out how we could, on the one hand, celebrate and appreciate the unique role consciousness has in the human life, and on the other hand honour the progress science has made in the realm of matter.

Transpersonal Research methodologies traditionally encourage bringing the researcher’s whole person (body mind soul and spirit) to a research topic of vital interest to the researcher. They also encourage and facilitate personal growth, transformation, and the development of compassion as the researcher grows in their understanding of themselves and the world around them, as well as facilitating the same in the research participants and audience. In our experience, there is growing interest in mainstream academia in this way of doing research. In this presentation the 3 panelists will present their experience both performing and teaching research in Transpersonally based and mainstream institutions, and draw conclusions on how Transpersonal Research Values, methodologies developmental theory may be applied in the broader academic context.

METHODOLOGICAL PROBLEMS OF TRANSPERSONAL PSYCHOLOGY

We are considering consciousness as presentation of the world in space-time forms of semantic spaces , and the unconscious as the wave processes in Hilbert space. These non-discrete continuous wave harmonics operate, based on the principle of “entanglement” and on the principle of "non-locality" of existence. This idea of the relationship between consciousness and the unconscious was expressed by Jung with the metaphor of " mangrove trees"; when on deeper levels, tree roots are intertwined, forming a single network (collective unconscious). Due to the “non-locality” and quantum “entanglement” of wave processes of the unconscious, it has a creative nature and possibly is interacting with the unconsciousness of other life forms, giving rise to cosmic consciousness.

QUEST FOR THE MISSING (LOGOS CODE) FOR TRANSPERSONAL LIFE AND CULTURE

In my two previous presentations to EUROTAS I sought to situate the enterprise of EUROTAS in the context of Global Wisdom and Enlightenment. In my first appearance in Germany I opened the theme of the urgency of dilating the discourse of transpersonal culture in terms of the quest for the missing Grammar of Logos. More recently (in Latvia) I developed this theme further with the focal topic: The Importance of Transpersonal Literacy in the Emergence of Awakened Global Consciousness: Our Maturation as a Species. Immediately following this presentation an intense spontaneous dialogue ignited and I felt encouraged to return to further develop this vital topic. My current work: Awakening Global Enlightenment: Our Maturation as a Species is unfolding well, and this emerging new book focuses on bringing out the ultimate mystery quest for the missing Code of Logo Sophia. This exploration demonstrates that our diverse scriptures and enlightenment teachings are all rooted in a primal Global Logos- whatever name we use for What is First: Yahweh, AUM, Tao, Allah, Christ, Brahman, Sunyata, Logos, Sophia….How appropriate that the birthing of European Wisdom in Athens traces to the dialogues of Socrates as rendered by Plato. This is a perfect and timely occasion to convene an open deep dialogue on the foundational Grammar of Transpersonal Life and Culture. This goes to the heart of the central topic of Metamorphosis- Disintegration, Integration, Conscious Living.

INTEGRATIVE TRANSPERSONAL APPROACH:AN EMERGING THERAPEUTIC APPROACH

This work refers to the application of the Integrative Transpersonal Approach (AIT), systematized by Vera Saldanha (PhD) in Brazil. According to the vision of Transpersonal Psychology, which recognizes spirituality and the necessity of transcendence as inherent to human nature, AIT is a transdisciplinary knowledge that can be applied in the contexts of education, health and organizations. The epistemological base, which is rooted in the postulates of Abraham Harold Maslow, Pierre Weil and Roberto Assagioli, has been widened and systematized forming the theoretical body of AIT. The process of transformation consists of 7 steps: recognition, identification, disidentification, transmutation, transformation, elaboration and integration. This therapeutic approach promotes the emergence of constructive and positive values in the individual and in groups, breaking ego defense mechanisms and boosting the use of positive inner resources long forgotten. This presentation is an opportunity to learn, understand and experience AIT.

DANCING IN THE DARK FROM SELF ALIENATION TO THE REALITY OF SELF, AND THE EXPERIENCE OF ONENESS

We live in challenging times. There is a universal demand for sharing information as well as technological and economic advances, when, at the same time, the growing culture encourages individualism and identification with a limited understanding of the self. This makes it difficult for individuals and communities to address the challenges inherent in the need to integrate all the new emerging possibilities. The choice, to embody courage which is necessary in order to look into the deepest recesses of our being, is of utmost importance in order to meet, and surrender to who we truly are. In this presentation we will explore the imperative that to live fully and serve life, we must be willing to fearlessly face our fear of ego death so that we can "dance" with all the energies which underly our experience ... a"'dance" essential to consciousness transformation the Reality of Being .

The goal of this workshop is the connection of our heart with the heart of mother Earth (female) and father Heaven (male), with the heart of humanity, and with Christ consciousness. We will use the authentic orthodox prayer rope (handmade by monks who are praying during its creation and blessed on the Holy Orthodox Liturgy), and follow the traditional steps of the orthodox way of appealing Jesus Christ’s name inside the mystic chamber of the Heart. The heart's path is a way of life: praying, neutrality, limitless love, compassion & self-knowledge.

VARIETIES OF AWAKENING EXPERIENCE

This presentation/lecture summarises some the main findings from my research into awakening experiences, and the concepts I have developed in the light of these findings, including the 'primary' and 'secondary' shift; ego-related and libido-related transformational experiences; the 'latent higher self'; and the significance of psychological turmoil as a trigger for permanent transformation.

IT'S NEVER TOO LATE TO HAVE A HAPPY CHILDHOOD - METAPHORIC TRANSFORMATION FROM VICTIM TO VICTOR

Are you ready to dare touch your inner child's survival pain, work through fear, anger, guilt or shame and transform the pain into a healing energy of inner peace, wisdom, and growth? You are invited to use COPE therapeutic cards as a magic wand to make this amazing step into emotional freedom. With the help of COPE cards we get in touch with our "inner child" locked within us as adults. The cards trigger the child's pain, old scars, hurtful memories, unresolved painful or traumatic events, and buried secrets of victimization. As children we don’t have the coping resources to understand the world and express our needs, let alone deal with our pain. We can now release the grief, the pent-up rage, the shame and fear which have been lurking within us. The process of our workshop invites us to experience a transformation: to discover and locate our hidden coping resources, which are reflected in the metaphoric images, and bring them out into the open. The metaphoric work generates healing elements that liberate the inner child. The pain is not denied nor does it evaporate. Through our unique process we find the way to contain it within a healing envelop. The purpose of setting out on this spiritual journey of healing the inner child is to stop letting our past experiences color our responses to life in the present, to be empowered, to have choices in life and to become a victor! Participants will walk away from this workshop with their own personal "talisman" of empowerment.

THE WORKPLACE, THE TRANSPERSONAL, SPIRITUALITY AND VALUES

A short account of John’s work over many years with managers in workplaces on the role of values, spirituality and the transpersonal. Followed by small groups to share experiences. Subsequent discussion could lead to deeper insights into “getting the transpersonal across.”
The workplace has changed physically and conceptually over 100 years. Now trained transpersonal psychologists are active in companies and organisations. In describing their work, they rarely use the word “transpersonal.”
The values of the transpersonal are, however, being communicated indirectly at work through discussion of spirituality and values.
